Ezra Vroman was my Mother's grandfather who, along with his wife, Bette, raised my mother and her brother after the death of their mother, Susan Virginia Vroman Patch in 1916. Eileen and Robert Patch lived on the grandparents farm outside of Moberly, Missouri for 10 years until their father, Okley Patch remarried and the children went to Indiana to live with their father and stepmother. Mother who is now 98 years of age still speaks lovingly of her grandparents.
