this cemetery was in use until the 1920's and was located on County Road 29 between Arnprior and Pakenham. In the mid 1970's construction of the new Hydro Electric dam at Arnprior and the moving of the CNR railway line resulted in the need to move the graveyard. I recall that the workers who were hired to work on this project were under quarantine for months while the work was in progress. All of the grave markers were moved to the Malloch Road Cemetery just to the east of Arnprior. I have been unable to locate any photographs of the markers at the original location. Many members of my family were interred at this cemetery and I have added them to this "virtual" cemetery. I have contacted Ontario Hydro and have had no feedback from them regarding any pre-move surveys or reports.... all a bit suspicious if you ask me!
