He was born Dec. 10, 1954, in Kalispell to Gordon Samuel and Iva “ Gerri” DeYoung. He attended schools in Kalispell and Missoula.On June 18, 1977, he mar ried Diane McClafferty in Butte. To them two wonderful sons were born, Christopher Samuel and Matthew Joseph. Craig and Diane were later divorced. On Oct. 20, 1984, he married Joan DesRosier in Butte.Craig had a life-long career in the drilling indus try. He learned to drill with his father as a boy and had many fond memories of spending time with his dad on the rigs. No trip through the Flathead Valley was complete without Craig pointing out water wells his dad had drilled. Early in his career he worked at Liberty Drilling with his good friend and men tor Gene Munson. In 1990, he purchased Andrew Well Drilling in Idaho Falls with his friend and partner, Craig Staley.Horse racing with his long time friend and trainer Bill Beamer was another life pas sion.Other interests included snowmobiling, cars and model railroading, but most of all time spent with his boys, Chris and Matt.He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Chris of New York and Matt of California; sister, Junellen (Stacey) Winchester and her children Lauriellen and Michael of California; his wife's parents, Jim and Joy DesRosier of Butte and wife's sisters and brother and their family.
