Congress Green Cemetery, 2 Cliff Road, Northbend, Ohio

Famous Judge John Cleves Symmes who purchased hundreds of thousands of acres from the federal government for the Congress Lands public land sale in the 1780s between the Great Miami River, Ohio River, and the Little Miami River including Hamilton County and Butler County in southwest corner of the State of Ohio. He was the father-in-law of President William Henry Harrison (9th). His daughter was Anna who eloped from Northbend to Cincinnati to marry Harrison. Harrison and Symmes descendants are buried at the Congress Green Cemetery. American Revolutionary War soldiers are buried here. Across the street on Cliff is the Harrison Tomb where President Wm. H. Harrison, Anna, son John Scott Harrison and nine other members are buried. John Scott Harrison was the father of President Benjamin Harrison (23rd) from Ohio.
