MACON - Joel Preston Collins passed away January 22, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11A.M. Friday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors. Rev. Larry Partain will be officiating. -Mr. Collins was born in Wilkinson County, GA to the late Joel C. Collins and Sybil Bell Collins. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard for 31 years and the United States Army for 2 years. Mr. Collins was also retired from RAFB in electronics after 32 years of service. He was also a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by a great grandchild Collin Mercer; three sisters Helen Green, Marion Hinson, Runette Bostick; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Sapp. -Mr. Collins is survived by his wife Lois Norman Collins; children, Mark Collins (Deborah) of Columbia SC, Lynn(Daniel) Duston of Macon, Helen(William) Joyner of Gray, Joel(Melanie) Lewis of Bonaire, Sharon Starley of Warner Robins, Bonnie McDonald of Milledgeville; 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Gerald Collins of Atlanta, Cecil Collins (JoAnne) of Dublin; sisters, Mary Etta Sapp of Macon, Jan (Earl) Thompson of Macon; brother-in-law Donald Bostick of Forsyth. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening in the funeral home. -In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heartland Hospice 115 Arkwright Landing Macon, Ga. 31210. -Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of arrangements.
