Saralyn Ward Shepard, 79, died on Monday, January 2, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 2 o'clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Family will greet friends for the hour prior to the service and burial will follow services, in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Alfred Daniel will officiate. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org/georgia, Heart of Georgia Hospice www.heartofgahospice.org, or Northway Church Faith for the Future building fund, www.northwaychurch.net.
Saralyn was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late Julian Mark and Margaret Rumph Ward. She graduated from Dublin High School and worked at the Bluebird Body Company, the Bank of Warner Robins, and Robins Air Force Base. Saralyn was a longtime member of Oakland Baptist Church in Warner Robins, and loved to test her luck playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her previous husband Joel P. Collins, brothers Clyde Leroy Ward and Julian Lionel Ward, and great grandson Collin Mercer.
