I grew up around a lot of cats as a child and none even came close to the love this cat poured out on us.
My girlfriend (now my wife) knew I wanted a cat for my birthday. Unknowingly to both of us we were looking at adopting the same cat from the local animal shelter. I had gone in to start adoption papers and someone beat me to the punch (my future wife.) So one day she brought Callie home and I could not believe my eyes! We were both going after the same cat. I guess you could say it was meant to be.
We had callie for 6 wonderful years. She was an inside cat all her life. We had a big house for her to run around in. Callie purred like a fine tuned Mustang car engine almost 24/7. She loved to cuddle and play. There was not a mean bone in this cats little body. She would sit up on our entertainment center and wached over the house. We called her the "Statue" because she would just sit up there without moving a muscle.
In late 2000 she started getting really sick. We spent a lot of money trying to figure out what was wrong.
Callie's kidneys were shutting down and the doctor said it was from her eating some kind of poison. We believe she ate some of the flock from our Christmas tree that caused this. It may seem odd, but as a grown man I wept openly becuase this dear cat was such a treasure to us for over 6 years. Today her ashes sit up on the entertainment center in her favorite spot. We now have a kitty named Kami whom we saved from the local animal shelter and love and care for greatly. CATS RULE!!

Cause of Death: Kidney Failure/due to poisoning.
