A German researcher laughed at the "Felty" Foos and said because a German V is pronounced like an F,
the nickname was mistakenly spelled "Felty," but should be" Velty" for Valentin or Valentine (as American's would say it.) Avtually it's pronounced Valen-tin (not like the love notes we send in February.
