William ‘Bill' Hartshorn, age 74, of Hot Springs, SD, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 18, 2013.
Bill was born February 21, 1939, to Lucile and Fey Hartshorn of Buffalo Gap. He spent his entire school years at the Buffalo Gap School and graduated in 1958. Bill then spent the next four years at Chadron State Teachers College and graduated from there in 1962. He taught school mostly in Wyoming and South Dakota until his mother took ill. At that time Bill came back to the ranch to take care of her until her death.
In 1995 he married Kitty Linehan and they made their home in Hot Springs until his illness in 2011.
Bill leaves to mourn his death his wife, Kitty of Hot Springs; brother, Bob Hartshorn of Spearfish; two step-sons, Rick and Mike Eichenberger of Gillette, WY; two brother-in-laws, Jumbo (Leni) Hamilton and Randy (Susan) Hamilton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Josephine Hamilton and sister-in-law, Charlotte ‘Dolly' Bowker.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Cascade Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Heiney officiating. Interment will take place at the Swallow Memorial Family Cemetery at a later date.
