Mrs. Hester Stanton, age 66, died November 8, 1929 at eleven-thirty. She had been ill for about ten months at the time of her death. She was staying with her daughter, Mrs. A B. Johnson at Knoxville, Tenn. The cause of her death was heart failure. Her remains were brought back to her old home place for burial. Funeral services were held Sunday morning about 10:30 conducted by Rev. Mr. Hipps, interment following at the Tweed Cemetery at White Rock.
Mrs. Stanton is survived by children as follows, Mrs. A.B. Johnson, Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Lillie Knott, Maryville, Tenn., Mrs. Maggie Simpson of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. S. H. Stanton of Irvine, Ky., Mr. E.D. Stanton of White Rock, NC, and two sisters, Mrs. John Fannan, Greenville, Tenn., Mrs. Annie Gebhart, White Rock, NC, and a host of grand children.
