CIVIL WAR Service Record: Enlisted in Company B, New York 8th Heavy Artillery Regiment on 29 Jul 1862. Died of infection from a gun shot wound on 9 Jun 1864 at [Augur General Hospital], Washington, DC.

~~~~~~~~
Note: The surgeon's name was Frederick F. Burmeister and he was with the 69th Pennsylvania Regiment, 2nd Brigade. I cannot find his assignment in Washington, DC.
I am still researching what would be considered 'A.C.' Field Hospital no. 2 in Washington, DC. If the 'C' is actually a 'G', then the two hospitals would be Ascension General Hospital and Augur General Hospital at Washington D.C. When the hospitals needed more room they considered the tents outside as no. 2. Ascension General closed their doors in Mar 1863, Augur General was open until the end of the war.
I went through the cemeteries at Washington D.C. and Arlington Cemetery. There were no George Drake's, but his death date was there under unknown soldiers. I found a note stating that Arlington Cemetery was across the street from Augur General. This information confirms the hospital as well. This young soldier is as an unknown soldier at Arlington, plot not listed.
