George Wheeler, age 76, of Flower Mound, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home. He was born May 28, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Stewart Charles Wheeler and Gladys Fox Wheeler. George married Janice Brancheau on August 29, 1964 in Dearborn, Michigan. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2011. George was a member of the Detroit Yacht Club, the Catholic Church, and a student of philosophy and theology; which he instilled in his children and others. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. George held a Bachelor of Science degree, which earned him recognition from the United States Government for his twenty years of service with the F.D.I.C. He never met a stranger and always had a smile or words of wisdom to share. He is loved and will be missed by those who have been fortunate enough to have known him. George is survived by his children, 3 daughters and 1 son; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as his 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Moons.
