Joseph McGurk, 92, of Plainfield, was born in Forty Fort, PA on December 7th 1920. He was the son of Joseph C. and Ruth (Williams) McGurk. He graduated from Berwick H.S.in 1940. He married Jane Marie Southwick in 1942 and had 4 children.

He was divorced in the summer of 1980. Joseph was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corp. He was a pilot of the B17 and B-29 aircraft. After WWII he graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, IA in 1952. He practiced Chiropractic in Louisville, KY, Rochester and Syracuse, NY where he retired in 1990.

He enjoyed his retirement by traveling around the country in his R.V. and boat. He enjoyed fishing on the St. Lawrence Seaway in the summers. In the Autumn, he often travelled to Portland, OR or Portland, Maine to enjoy the season. He would spend the winters in Texas near his sons Elial and Gary. He settled in Sunbury, PA after 10 years of traveling around the USA to near his brother Jack McGurk and sister Doris Naus for a few years. His later years he spent in the Plainfield area to be near his sons, Jack and Joseph.

He is survived by his sons, Gary of New Braunfels, TX, Elial of Baltimore, MD, Joseph and John (Jack) McGurk both of Plainfield. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the Roselawn Cemetery in Berwick, PA.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:45 pm Thursday at the McMichael-Rairigh Baker Funeral Home in Berwick.
