Giovannina Jennie Potente, 95, of Kinnelon, passed away at home on April 18, 2013.Born in Newark to Gaetano and Vienna Benucci, Jennie married Dominick Potente in 1938 and the couple settled in Newark before moving to East Orange where they raised their family. Jennie moved to Kinnelon 30 years ago and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Magnificat RC Church. She was a wonderful seamstress and made beautiful crafts that her family and friends will always cherish.Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Dominick. She is survived by her son, Dominick Potente, Jr. and his wife Linda; her daughters, Carol Ann Kerris and her husband Robert and Cabrina Shark and her husband Daniel; her sisters, Rita Bove and Anna Comarata; her grandchildren, Dominick Potente, III and Michael Potente; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly called her Aunt Dolly. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Jeanette Webb, who took such wonderful care of Jennie. A funeral Mass will be held 10 am Monday, April 22 at Our Lady of the Magnificat RC Church, Kinnelon. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennies memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated by her family.
