Funeral services for Johnny Peden, 86, of Lufkin, will be held in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan with Rev. Elton Musick officiating. Burial to follow in Union Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Peden was born February 26, 1927 in Lufkin and went to be with his Lord and surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in the Lufkin Memorial Hospital.

Johnny enjoyed being a logger, working in his yard, loved to ride the back roads and listen to classic old country music. His favorite animals, Casper and Sassy! He served in World War II in the Army and Air Force earning three medals.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Myrtle; children, James and Terri Peden of Coldspring, Larry Wayne Peden of Groveton, Jerry and Tecea Peden of Hudson, Janice and Rodney McDaniel of Pollok, Phyllis and Vechel Renfro of Lufkin, Joyce and Cecil Riddles of Gilmer, Johnnie Mae and Amos Fredergill of Huntington; step-children, Betty and A.J. Ramos of Houston, Charles G. Davis of Watervally, MS, Michael P. Davis of Humble, Randy McBride of Lufkin, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends who will miss him greatly.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Peden; parents, Walter and Rosette Peden; brothers, Dallas Peden and Charles Peden.

Military honors provided by VFW Post No. 8568.

Funeral services entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home, 204 E. Front Street, Corrigan, Texas.
