Mrs. Bessie Crews
Mrs. Bessie Yarbrough Crews, 84, of Melrose, died Wednesday afternoon, April 23, in Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine.
Born August 27, 1894, in Anniston, Alabama, Mrs. Crews had lived in Melrose for over 50 years. She was a member of the Eliam Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vermelle Sockey of Orlando; two sons, Elmo E. Yarbrough of Melrose and Eltryn C. Yarbrough of Winter Park; three sisters; Mrs. Lettie Godwin of Atmore, Ala.; Mrs. Gladys Blair of Tracy, Calif., and Mrs. Delia Mason of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 26, in Eliam Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Leslie J. Harris, officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Eliam Cemetery. DeWitt C. Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
