Musician, Songwriter, Arranger, Record Producer and Pastor. Andraé Edward Crouch was often referred to as "the father of modern gospel music" and composed such songs as The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power, My Tribute (To God Be the Glory) and Soon and Very Soon. He formed a gospel group called the Disciples in the middle 1960s and released his first album, Take the Message Everywhere in 1971. In 1972 he began his solo career with Just Andraé while continuing to tour with the group formed the previous year. He won seven Grammy Awards, six Gospel Music Association's (GMA) Dove Awards, inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame and was nominated for an Oscar for The Color Purple.
