He was born April 7, 1932, in Anderson, to John P. and Irene (Neighbors) Bemish.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a supervisor at Pepsi for 36 years before retiring in 1997; and was groundskeeper, head usher and founding member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patty (Dunwiddie) Bemish of Anderson, whom he married Sept. 26, 1952, in Anderson; two daughters, Terri (Danny) Nolan and Jeannie Chapple; son-in-law, James Halsell; daughter-in-law, Lori Bemish; seven grandchildren, Matt (Lana) Bemish, Amber (James) Fithian, Brandy Bemish (fiancé, Mike Barnett), Donald (Jamie) Bemish, Jimi (Kim) Halsell, Greg (Ellen) Nolan and Dana Nolan; 22 great-grandchildren, Abbi, Hailee, Zack, Ellie, Meredith, Wyatt, Danny, Jocelyn, Jordyn, Olivia, Maicie, Michaela, Chance, Elise, Abi, T.J., Kayla, Brynn, Rhett, Zeke, Dayne, and Reese.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susie Bemish-Halsell; son, John Dale Bemish; and his granddaughter, Jessica Sheets.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cross Roads United Methodist Church with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Visitation will be Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
