He was named co-executor in his father-in-law John Laraway's will in 1812, then referred to as "Abraham Van Valkenburgh Junr." In 1830, he was a donor for the construction of the Union Meeting House in Moresville (Grand Gorge), Delaware Co., NY. He and his wife were living in Roxbury, Delaware Co., NY, in 1850, at which time he was listed as a farmer and aged 61 (though really 62). He was identified as one of the siblings of Eleanor Van Valkenburgh in Rensselaer Co., NY, probate records, 1886.
