Lorraine "Florence" Wojtalewicz, 89, of Stevens Point, died November 18, at North Haven Assisted Living.
A mass and Christian burial for Florence will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Rev. Marcin Mankowski will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories on Sunday from noon - 3:00 PM at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point. The Sacred Heart Rosary Society of which Florence was a proud member, will lead a rosary for Florence at 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral chapel. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of service at the church.
Florence was born August 27, 1926 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Carl and Agnes (Walenski ) Wrycha. She married Chester Wojtalewicz on November 18, 1944 at St. Mary's - Torun. The couple owned and operated a farm in Stevens Point until retirement. Florence enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, playing cards, quilting and making wreaths. But most of all she loved the family that she and her husband raised.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Chester, and their 12 children:
Dennis (Jeanette) Wojtalewicz; Leroy (Faye) Wojtalewicz; Dorothy (Len) Wisinski; Eugene (Tina) Wojtalewicz; Barb (Fred) Lepak; Kathy (Chris) Tessen; Donna (Walt) Adamic; Mike (Carmen) Wojtalewicz; Roger (Karen) Wojtalewicz; Diane (Steve Roberts) Rossin; Lori (Bob) Schultz; Jim (Tammy) Wojtalewicz. 41 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons: Ronald and Paul, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
