Helene Thimig was an austrian character actress and widow of director Max Reinhardt. She began performing on stage in 1908 and joined her husband's copmany in Berlin in 1917. They moved to America in the 1930's, later returning to Europe in the 1940's.
Some of her feature films include "edge of darkness" with Errol Flynn and Ann Sheridan, "none but the lonely heart" with Gary Grant and Ethel Barrymore and "cloak and dagger" with Gary Cooper and Lillie Palmer.
