Evelyn Taksel, 94, of Freehold, N.J., formerly of McKeesport, died Sunday, July 31, 2016. She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in McKeesport, and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ann Harr Krause. She was the wife of the late Sam Taksel, who died in 1981. She was a former member of Temple B'Nai Israel and was retired from the Department of Public Welfare in McKeesport. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) St. Lifer, of Colts Neck, N.J.; son, Ken Taksel, of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Lillian, Sam (Anne) and Emily.

There is no visitation. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, in the Temple B'Nai Israel Cemetery, Versailles. Arrangements are by the GILBERT FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 412-672-6322, Troy J. Gilbert, director.
