Isaac david was a Captain in the Civil War.
He was a pioneer and served a s Postmaster from July 1, 1889 - October 1, 1893.
He was married to Mary Ann (Green) David. Of this union there have been born three children: Ruth; John W., and Hattie.

Commissioned in Co. D, 151st Infantry on 18 February 1865, 43 years old as Captain. Mustered out 24 January 1866 at Columbus, Ohio. Description at enlistment: 5'6" tall, brown hair, grey eyes, merchant. Born in Freeport (Harrison) Ohio
24 January 1822. Died 22 February 1906. Buried at Ipava Cemetery, Fulton County, Illinois.

Married Mary Ann Green on 18 May 1843 near Astoria (Fulton) Illinois. She died 29 December 1895. Two children were living in 1895: Ruth born 15 April 1844 and Hattie
S. Hennick born 8 February 1857. He stated that he farmed for four years after the war, but rheumatism prevented him from continuing. He started doing clerical work.
In the matter of Pension Claim No. 695800 of Isaac David, late captain of Company D 151 st Illinois Infantry Volunteers, personally came before me Vincent M. Grewell aged 77 years whose residence and Post Office address is Ipava Fulton County Illinois, and Daniel L. Easley aged 67 years whose residence and Post Office address is Ipava Fulton County Illinois, well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit. That they have been intimately acquainted with said soldier for 53 years and 55 years respectively and they now have before them what purports to be the family Bible of Henry David and Ruth David the parents of said soldier in which the following record of births appear:

Daniel David, son of Henry David and Ruth David, his wife was born August 11 th 1816 and died September 1, 1816

John was born September 10tth1817
William was born December 6th 1819
Isaac was born January 24th 1822
Rachel was born March 4th 1824
Daniel was born April 20th 1826
Easley was born June 23 rd 1828
Edith Ann was born May 30th 1831
Henry F. was born July 26th 1833
Rees was born April 25th 1836
Mary was born December 28th 1839
