Actor. He was best known to television viewers for his role of FBI bureau chief Frank Cubitoso on the HBO hit series "The Sopranos" from 1999 to 2004. He started in the restaurant business in Harlem at the age of 12 and later co-owned the famed New York restaurant Rao's. He also was a member of an early 1960s singing group called the Holidaes. In the late 1980s he turned to acting with a role in the television series "True Blue" in 1989. Besides "The Sopranos", his television credits also included such series as "New York Undercover", "Swift Justice", "Law & Order", and "Big Apple". He also had roles in such films as "Goodfellas" (1990), "Manhattan Murder Mystery" (1993), "Copland" (1997), "Mickey Blue Eyes" (1999), and "Happy End" (2003). He also authored several cookbooks and produced a CD with music from the jukebox at Rao's. He passed away after a battle with lung cancer.
