Professional Football Player. Born Daniel George Currie, he played the linebacker position for both the National Football League's Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams for nine seasons (1958-1966). He played football collegiately at Michigan State University and was an All-American in 1957. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers with the third pick overall in the 1958 NFL Draft. He went on to play for the Packers for seven seasons before being traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 1965 for wide receiver Carroll Dale. He would go to play the final two years of his career with the Rams before retiring after the 1966 season. During his NFL career, he was an AP First-Team All-Pro in 1962 and was part of the Packers' NFL championship teams in 1961 and 1962. He was later inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. He later worked as a defensive coach at Milton College in Wisconsin before moving to Las Vegas where he worked in casino security.
