Mrs. Catharine Helmer. Catharine McCue, widow of John Helmer, died at the family residence, 130 Mohawk Street last evening, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Helmer was born in Lewis County, and there spent the early part of her life. She has been a resident of this city (Utica) for the last 30 years. She was a member of St. John’s church and hte League of the Sacred Heart connected therewith. Mrs. Helmer is survived by a son, one brother, George McCue of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Burns of Newark, N.Y., Mrs. Margaret Yule and Anna McCue of Utica. Mrs. Catharine Helmer. There was a large attendance of friends at the funeral of Catharine McCue, widow of John Helmer, which was held from her late home, 130 Mohawk street, at 9 o’clock this morning and from St. John’s Church at 9:30 o’clock, where a solemn mass of requiem was chanted…. The bearers were nephews of the deceased, John Burns, Henry Burns, John P. Scanlon, C.J. Scanlon, John A. McCue, and George W. McCue. The interment was made in St. Agnes’s Cemetery.
