HARRY SCHWENGER
A graveside service for Harry Schwenger, 85, Oxford, CT, was conducted May 22 at St. Peter’s Cemetery near Oxford. He died May 21, 1993, at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Schwenger was born February 19, 1908, at Dazey, ND, the son of Christian and Margaret (Zimmerman) Schwenger. He grew up there, attended school and graduated from school at Dazey. He served in the U. S. Army.
He resided at Oxford for 47 years, moving there from Bridgeport. He retired in 1974 after 22 years of employment with the Avco Corp. in Stratford, where he was a lead man in the electronic beam welding department.
Survivors include his wife, Alvilda (Haugen) Schwenger; a son, Harry, Oxford; two daughters, Madelyn and Janet Schwenger, both of Oxford; four sisters, Gladys Waterman, Park Rapids, MN; Helen Rice, Hobart, IN; Alice Schwenger, Hobart, NY, and Esther McKinny Tamarac, in Florida, and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Minnie Schwenger.
