Russell was the son of Russell Jackson Sr and Ruby Lee Postell Jackson. He was educated in the Peach County School System.

He was married to Takesia Lawanda Rogers on April 5, 1997. He was married to Wynell Ragins on April 10, 2006.

Survivors:
Wife: Wynell Jackson.
3 Children: Tashanti Jackson, Ru'myia Jackson and Macy Jackson.
Mother: Ruby L. Jackson.
2 Brothers: Terry Jackson(Lisa) and Ashley Jackson(Angel).
7 Stepchildren.

Services were held Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11AM in the Sanctuary of Friendship Baptist Church in Fort Valley, Georgia.
