Elizabeth (birth name is Sarah Elizabeth) is a daughter of John Brown and Sarah Haynes - their oldest daughter and fourth child of eight. She immigrated to Utah with her family in 1863 and grew up in Salt Lake City. Elizabeth married William Armitage Needham on April 29, 1880 in Salt Lake City. They became parents to six children: Sarah Alice, William Armitage, Irmi, Ray, Mamie, and Hazel. Elizabeth traveled with her husband on buying trips for ZCMI. He died in 1925.
