Russel Rime, 86, Garrison, died Aug. 26, 1999, in the Garrison hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garrison, with the Rev. Dick Hendrickson officiating.
Burial will be in Garrison Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today and Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Russel was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Emmet, to Menton M. and Raginald E. Rime. He attended rural school in Emmet and helped his mother and brothers work the family farm. He married Laura L. Hultberg in Coleharbor, June 25, 1939. They purchased the family homestead and continued to farm while raising five children. After selling the farm to their youngest son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Connie, they moved into Garrison. Russel had been living at the Benedictine Living Center for the last 18 months.
Russel and Laura enjoyed traveling to many places and had wintered in Arizona for 17 years.
Russel is survived by his wife, Laura; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Walter and Oleeta, Underwood, Raymond and Cathy, Dallas, Texas, Menton "Tony," Fort Wayne, Ind., and Larry and Connie, Emmet; one daughter and son-in-law, Lona and Brock Affeldt, Mandan; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Manuel, Garrison; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Francis; two sisters, Ester Rime and Clarice Farrell; and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donors choice.
