OBITUARY.
Mr. David Shellabarger, one of the olde residents of Shawnee county, died at his residence east of the cemetery at ten o'clock last night, of typhoid-brain fever. Mr. Shellabarger came to this county thirteen years ago, and has been one of the best citizens ever since. He was sixty-nine years of age and leaves a large family, as follows: G. G. Shellabarger of Valley Falls, Miss Nannie Shellabarger of this county, Mrs. Garrison of Ohio, and Mrs. Ruthena Thomas of this city. Three nieces, the Misses Drake, were also members of his family. He has a brother in Washington, D. C. a Congressman from Wisconsin. The funeral will be held from his late residence, at 3 o'clock p. m. Thursday.

… Mr. Shellabarger was born on March 14, 1813, in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania. During the greater part of his life he resided in Clark county, Ohio. He removed to Shawnee county in March, 1869. He was for fifty years a member of the Presbyterian Church, and for thirty-six years a Ruling Elder in the church. Since 1869 he had been a most worth and useful member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of this city. The pall-bearers were Messrs. J. T. Clark, John Brier, J. W. Day, H. R. Hilton, W. G. Dickinson, and R. B. Gemmell.
