Max arrived at Ellis Island, New York in May of 1913 and his wife and young son followed in June, 1920. They lived in Manhattan through 1921 and lived in Buffalo, New York from 1922 (when he was naturalized there) through 1933, and later lived in the Bronx.
On 22 December 1953 he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Sadie "Scheindel Mirla" Eisman Plotzky.
Max is survived by two sons, Herman Platt and Jacob "Jack" Plotsky; one grandson, Franklin Platt.
