Actor. Best known for playing the farmhand Eb Dawson on the popular CBS show “Green Acres” from 1965 to 1971. He appeared in 150 episodes and reenacted the role in guest appearances on “Petticoat Junction” and “The Beverly Hillbillies.” He resurrected the character in the 1990 television movie “Return to Green Acres.” Born and raised on a farm in Mississippi, he was a natural for the role, and at the age of 26 he was the youngest member of the cast. He guest starred on other television series, including “Marcus Welby, M.D.,” “Little House on the Prairie,” “Knight Rider,” and “Santa Barbara.” His film careers included portraying a bumbling criminal in the movie “Benji” (1974), and Cousin Jake in “Gordy” (1994), a box office movie about a pig. Jake was the cousin and manager of a country singer in “Gordy” and arranged a country music concert in Branson, Missouri to help Gordy locate his lost family that had been sold to slaughterhouses. His last appearance was in the 2014 movie “Campin’ Buddies” with Ray Stevens as two friends who enter a contest to win a bus. He was the last surviving member of the regular “Green Acres” cast. He died of complications of Parkinson’s disease.
