Collus Williams Sr., 83, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m. at Toliver Chapel Church with Dr. Jimmy D. Hunter officiating.

Collus was born in Riesel, Texas, to the late Esmon and Mary Eva Williams. He attended public schools and served in the U.S. Army. After serving in the military, he worked at Bird-Kultgen Ford for 15 years. Collus retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1988, after 24 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Collus was not married at the time of his death. He was formerly married to Edna Rae, Mildred, Eleanor, Johnnie, Vera, Ruth, and Raydonna.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Collus Elaine; a son, Lafayette; brothers, Costoma, Esmon Jr., Robert, Thomas James and Howard D.; and a sister, Doris Mae.

He is survived by his sons, Collus Jr., Adolphus and wife, Vivian, Collus LaMoyne and wife, Robin, Leonard Ray, Frank Carl, and Reginald; daughters, Gayle and husband, Elverna, Mary and husband, Roy, Cynthia Kay, Cheryl, and Yolanda; step-sons, Richard Lee, Bobby Lee, Oliver Miles Jr. and wife, Esther and Josepth Gaynor and wife, Marlo; sister-in-law, Blanche Williams; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other step-children; sister, Doris and husband, Willie; brother, Wilbert; and nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
