Child Actor. He is remembered for his appearances in the Hal Roach's "Our Gang" short silent films from 1927 until 1929. Born Harry Sherman Bonner, he got his start in movies alongside actor Buck Jones in several westerns. His first appearance in "Our Gang" series was in the short silent comedy film "Chicken Feed" (1927). A popular member of the gang, he was often portrayed wearing an oversized bowler hat. When talking films made their debut, he was replaced by actor Jackie Cooper. His last "Our Gang" film was "Bouncing Babies" (1929) and afterwards he briefly performed in vaudeville acts. In 1964, he left the entertainment business and dropped from sight after serving in the US Navy. He died from kidney cancer at the age of 84.
