Pat Farrer, a lifetime resident of Bremen, passed away October 31, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born November 28th, 1930, and was just one month shy of reaching his 90th birthday. As a teenager, Pat was voted most popular senior boy in high school. After graduation from BHS, he was fortunate enough to marry the most popular senior girl, Marian Knoblock. They celebrated forty-two years together raising a family, traveling, dancing, and relaxing at their lake cottage, before Marian passed in 1992. During his lifetime Pat was a good citizen of the town. It seemed he was known and liked by most everyone in Bremen. He was a grocer for more than forty years at Woodie's Supermarket; an active member of the Jaycees service organization; a brother in Bremen Masonic Lodge No. 414; and a lifelong member of Bremen's United Church of Christ. Pat was a jack of all trades and could repair or build just about anything. He even built a camping trailer from the frame up in his driveway, in which the family had many memorable camping trips. During his senior citizen years, Pat became a snowbird along with many of his Bremen friends, to an over 55 community in Avon Park, Florida. There he was active as a fund raiser for charities, showed off his yodeling skills, and was a good natured annoyance at the pool where he blew his whistle at different times and barked out orders to turn over, time to take your medicine, or go home and fix dinner. In Avon Park he met and snagged the heart of Betty Robinson in 1998, who became his loving companion for the remainder of his life. For Pat's three daughters, he was the best dad ever. In the fall, he raked leaves for his girls to jump into. In winter, he made big snow igloos for them to play in, and in the summer months he took them camping, swimming, boating, and many cross country vacations. He taught them self-defense moves, fishing, exceptional work ethics, and the importance of education in and out of school. Pat is survived by his daughters, Linda (Dwight) Anders, Patti Bridge, Monica (Dennis) Heider, his seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with one brother Don . He is also survived by his loving companion Betty Robinson and her children, Gary, Tammy (Greg) Noring, and Lisa Robinson. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian, his parents Tom and Minnie Farrer, son in law Steve Bridge, and five brothers, Tom, Jim, Dean, Jerry, and infant Richard. Per Pat's request he will be cremated and there will be no memorial service at this time. The family requests no flowers.
