Tom A. Farrer, 90, of Bremen, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011
at the Bremen Health Care Center.
He was born February 12, 1921 in Bremen to Tom and Minnie (Stillson) Farrer.
He married Norma Jean Neher, she preceded him in death in 1981.
On November 5, 1983 he married Dorothy Mummey-Berkey and she survives.
He lived in Bremen, Avon Park, FL and Wakarusa. He returned to Bremen in 2005.
Tom retired from Selmer in Elkhart after 21 years and was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
He was an auctioner for Farrer's auction of Bremen for over 50 years;
he enjoyed golfing and bowling, and he was the first person to achieve
a 700 hundred bowling series in Bremen.
Tom also won many horseshoe pitching tournaments.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Bremen, one daughter Sally Smith of Bremen,
one son Jack (Peggy) Farrer of Bremen, one stepson Charles "Chuck" Berkey of Bremen, one stepdaughter Tammy (Fred) Fuchs of Bremen, five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandsons, three brothers Dean (Lois) Farrer of Bremen, Pat Farrer of Bremen, Don (Joyce) Farrer of Elkhart, one sister-in-law Jeanette Farrer
of Martinsville.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean and two brothers, Jerry and Jim, and one great-great-grandson.
Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen with Pastor Ben Hammond officiating.
Private Family burial will be held at Olive Cemetery in Wakarusa.
Friends may call 2-6 PM Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Hospice of Marshall County.
