Singer, Guitarist, and Actor. He received notoriety in the second half of 20th century as an American singer and musician. Born Trinidad "Trini" López III, the son of Trinidad Lopez II and Petra Gonzalez. He had two sisters and one brother. He grew-up in a Dallas neighborhood called Little Mexico where he attended grammar school and N. R. Crozier Tech High School, but had to drop-out his senior year to get a job and help support his family. At the age of 15, Lopez formed his first band "The Big Beats". At the recommendation of Buddy Holly's dad, Lopez went to producer Norman Petty and was able to secure their first contract with Columbia Records. His first album in 1963 included a cover version of Pete Seeger's "If I Had a Hammer", which earned a Golden Disc for him. During his 61 year career, 1959 until 2020 he charted the following songs through 1968 that included "Lemon Tree" in 1965, "I'm Comin' Home, Cindy" in 1966, and "Sally Was a Good Old Girl" in 1968. Beyond singing, he became one of the country's top nightclub performers of his era doing shows on a regular basis in Las Vegas. In 1993, a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs, California Walk of Stars was dedicated to him. In 2003 he was inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame and in 2008 he was inducted into the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. Not as successful as his singing career, his acting career included minor parts in "Marriage on the Rocks" and "The Dirty Dozen," which were the most notable of his nine films. In his music career, he recorded more than 30 albums. Caused of death was listed as "Covid 19."
