Esmée de la Mater was born April, 19, 1938 to Broughton (Bo) George Parker and Dorothy Rosalie (Bradbury) Parker in Esher, Surrey England. Anthony followed in 1942 and Jerome was born in 1945.

She attended Battle Abbey boarding school where she was very active in sports, piano and horse riding. She took a secretarial course in Brighton Sussex which was affiliated with London University.

The family moved to Toronto, Canada in October 1956. The family returned to England in 1957 except for Esmée who remained in Canada. She married Englishman Adrian Redman in October 1958. They divorced in 1966 and Esmée moved to Washington DC to work for the World Bank.

She met Lyall Davies de la Mater in Washington DC, they moved to Denver in October, 1968 and married December 20, 1968. They lived in downtown Denver at Brooks Towers on the 21st floor . In 1975 they moved to Illinois where Esmée became a US citizen. In 1976 they returned to Denver and purchased the townhouse in Aurora, Colorado where she continued to reside.

Esmée worked for the manager of the Denver Symphony, the manager of The Denver Club, King Resources, Forest Oil Corporation and then retired in the mid 1980s to travel with Lyall ,who was Manager of Flight Operations in Denver. Esmee organized their itinerary and took care of all the travel details down to carrying luggage. Lyall retired in 1989 and died of lung cancer on May 25, 2004 at Porter Hospice.

Esmée was active in Daughters of the British Empire and Ladies of the Commonwealth. She loved to travel and was a great correspondent with all her friends and family.
