Necrology Jay Baker From OB Three Rivers Commercial News 7/11/35
Jay Baker , Died Sunday afternoon, July 10, 1935. At the Three Rivers Hospital after a 14 month illness. He was a son of Reuben and Clara Baker. Born December 16, 1889 in Berne, Ind. At the age of three the family moved to Three Rivers where Mr. Baker has spent the greater part of his life. Feb. 1, 1914 He was united in marriage to Doris Bond of Allegan. For many years he was employed by Fairbanks Morse and Co. and for two years at the Riverside foundry in Kalamazoo. He was well known in Three Rivers for his clever ball playing and at time was a professional baseball player. He possessed a kind and pleasant disposition and was well respected by all who knew him. Surviving are his Father Reuben Baker of Three Rivers. His wife Mrs. Doris Baker and six children., Franklin of Battle Creek, Mrs. Avis Hackenberg of Three Rivers. William, Kenneth, Betty Lou and Mary Ellen at home. One brother Earnest of Parkville, five sisters, Mrs. Maude Wagner, Mrs. Wilma Potter and Mrs. May Ora Jones of Weston, Ohio. Mrs. Hazel Conrad of Mendon and Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Two-thirty at the Mains Chapel. Rev. W.E. Watts officiating Burial at Riverside Cemetery.
Children Burial: Kenneth,Avis, Riverside Cemetery Three Rivers, Mi. Betty William, Sturgis, Mi. Cemetery. Franklin (Bus) Battle Creek, Mi. Mary Ellen Still living in Sturgis, Mi.
Did you know that Jay Baker had one blue and one brown eye. He also was a brunette but his beard was red.
