"GREEN ISLAND - Donald F. 'Moon' Bailey, 64, of Hudson Avenue, died Thursday at home. A lifelong Green Island resident, Mr. Bailey was a graduate of Heatly High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Bailey worked for the Bendix Corp. for 34 years, retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany. He served as eucharistic minister at the cathedral and at Albany Medical Center. He was in the program of evangelization at the cathedral. Mr. Bailey served as the first president of the United Auto Workers at Bendix and was a member of the McNulty-McCutchen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He was also a member of the Legnard-Curtin American Legion Post and was a former member of its color guard. He was one of the founding members of the Green Island Village Pals, a member of the Vagabond Club and an associate of the Holy Union Sisters in Massachusetts. He was a former coach of the Green Island Little League. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Constance Bazar Bailey; a daughter, Patricia Iannone of Latham; three sons, Kitrick and Curt Bailey of Green Island and Donald F. Bailey Jr. of Kinderhook; four brothers, James Bailey of Waterford, Joseph Bailey of Beverly Hills, Fla., Charles Bailey of Cohoes and Robert Bailey of Green Island; three sisters, Margaret Katsky of Troy, Agnes Ritrovato of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Jeanie Ritrovato of Greenville, Texas; and five grandchildren. Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Ave., and at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church.
