Actress. The niece of General George Patton, she was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Oregon. She attended the University of Southern California when she appeared in a stage production of screenwriter William C. de Mille. She made her motion picture debut in the film "Thank Your Luck Stars" in 1943. She will be remembered by movie audiences for her role as Ruth Dakin Bailey in the classic picture "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946). Other film credits include "The Burning Cross" (1947), "A Double Life" (1947), "Black Eagle" (1948), and "Lucky Stiff" (1949). After marrying, she retired from acting and raised a family. She later served as president of The Patton Corp., an investment and real estate holding company in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
