She immigrated to the United States with her husband, first settling in Albany County, New York. While living there she gave birth to two daughters, Catherine and Elizabeth. For some as yet known reason the family of four traveled back to Germany for a few years shortly after the birth of Elizabeth. When they returned to the US they settled in Washington County, Ohio. Catharina died there, leaving Jacob and two young daughters.
