She will primarily be remembered for having played Wednesday Addams in the comedy-horror sitcom "The Addams Family" (1964-1966), the first of many screen adaptations of the comic strip "The Addams Family" (1938-1988) by Charles Addams. She later reprised the role of Wednesday for the TV film "Halloween with the New Addams Family" (1977). In 1966, she appeared in the sitcom "The Pruitts of Southampton." She appeared occasionally in tv and commercials throughout the 1970s. From 1980 to 1983, she was a regular character on the soap opera "As the World Turns." She also appeared in three slasher B-movies: "Blood Frenzy" (1987), "Iced" (1988), and "Savage Harbor" (1987), and two comedy horror movies, "Way Down in Chinatown" (2014) and "Doctor Spine" (2015). She was born in the Marshall Islands to parents serving in the U.S. Navy, who divorced shortly after she was born. She was raised in Hawaii before moving to Los Angeles with her mother. Her mother passed away when she was a teenager. Loring married for the first time at the age of fifteen and had one daughter from that marriage, which ended shortly thereafter. She had another daughter from her second marriage. She had two subsequent marriages without children. She enjoyed being a grandmother.
