Mrs. Lena Sigourney
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lena McMullin Sigourney, 87, were held Friday afternoon at the Fox Funeral Home, Hammond, Rev. Donald Anderson, Pastor Presbyterian Church Rossie, officiated. Burial will be later in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Sigourney, wife of Noel C. Sigourney, died Tuesday, March 26, in the Edward John Noble Hospital. She had been hospitalized since Feb24 and had been in failing health for the past three years. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Turnbull, Rossie; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A son, Malcolm, predeceased her.
Mrs. Sigourney was born at Rossie Nov 2, 1886, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Fleming McMullin. She attended schools at Rossie, Hammond, and Gouverneur. On June 2, 1909 she was married to Noel C. Sigourney at the First Presbyterian Church Watertown. Since their marriage the couple had lived on the former McMullin home at Rossie.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Rossie and for more than 50 years years and organist at the church. She was a life member of the Hammond Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of the Hammond Grange.
