A telegram was received in Rossie yesterday that stated that Daniel Gillin, at one time a resident of that place, had been killed at the May mine, one of the Coeur D'Alene group in Idaho. The information was very meager, merely the fact that he had been killed being stated. For several weeks past an extensive strike has been on in the series of mines and it is thought that Gillin was killed in some trouble with the strikers. Mr. Gillin had been in the west for several years. In 1897 he married Miss Carroll, of Rossie. The wedding took place in Butte City where Miss Carroll was teaching school. Mr. Gillin had been employed as a miner in the May mine for some time previous to his death. Besides his wife, he leaves a mother and sister who now reside in Rossie.
