Musician, Singer-Songwriter. He is best remembered for the hits "I Let Her Lie," "Too Much Fun," and "Amen Kind of Love." During his childhood, he performed gospel music with his brother and cousins. He also took vocal lessons as a teenager. In order to pursue a record deal, he moved from Cairo, Georgia, to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1990. Before working as a demo singer, he sang at various venues during open mic nights. Eventually, Singletary signed a recording contract with Giant Records, with the help of renowned country singer Randy Travis. In 1995, his self-titled debut album was released. Despite the album selling poorly, it produced the two hits "I Let Her Lie" and "Too Much Fun," both of which reached No. 2 and No. 4 respectively. A year later, his second album "Giant was released. It produced his second No. 2 hit "Amen Kind of Love." However, the album still did poorly. On February 24, 1998, his third album, "Ain't It The Truth," was released. It produced a minor hit in the song "The Note," but the album still did not do well. As a result, he was dropped from Giant's roster and signed to Audium/Koch Entertainment. Shortly thereafter, he released the albums "Now and Again" (2000) and "That's Why I Sing This Way" (2002). Likewise, after Audium/Koch's country division closed, he signed with Shanachie Records, where he released the album "Straight From The Heart" (2007). A couple of years later, after Audium/Koch was renamed E1 Music, he returned to the label where he released the album "Rockin' in the Country" (2009). Under various other record labels, he released the albums "There's Still a Little Country Left" (2015) and American Grandstand (2017). The latter was a collaboration with Rhonda Vincent. He died from a blood clot.
