Ellen Stucky, 95, of Moundridge, Kansas, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1927 in rural Moundridge, the daughter of Jonas H. and Anna (Kaufman) Vogt.
Between her 8th grade and freshman year, she recognized her need to confess her sins, repent, and ask God for forgiveness. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized and became a member of the Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge.
She graduated from Moundridge High School with the class of 1946.
Ellen was united in marriage to Alfred Stucky on August 22, 1946 in Moundridge. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2015.
Ellen was a devoted homemaker, assisting Alfred on their farm and at the Central Kansas Hatchery for many years. Ellen taught Bible school and volunteered with the Mary Martha group. Every Friday for several years, Ellen and Alfred would be found folding church bulletins in the Eden Church office.
She is survived by her three sons, Darrell (Jennifer) Stucky of Katy, TX, Harlan (Joyce) Stucky of Richmond, MO, and Timothy (Beverly) Stucky of Hutchinson, KS; sister, Velma (James) Neufeld of Bloomington, MN; five granddaughters, Kimberly (T.J.) Jung, Michelle (Jed) Wolkins, Christine (Chuck) Chapman, Megan Stucky and Kara Stucky; and five great-grandchildren.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and six siblings, Weldon Vogt, Letha Ediger, Marlin Vogt, Kenneth Vogt, Evelyn Goering, and Margie Kaufman.
Graveside services will be held at 9:45 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial services will follow in the church at 10:30 a.m. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 13, at Moundridge Funeral Home.
