U.S. Congressman. He received his education from the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1958, he started his political career as a Senator in the state of Florida, representing the 18th district from November 8, 1966 until November 7, 1972. He was elected and served as a U.S. House of Representatives member for one term from January 3, 1973 until January 3, 1975. He ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 1988 but was unsuccessful. Even though he wasn't elected, he continued to work for the people of Florida. After leaving public office, he returned to Florida and worked at Rogers, Gunter, and Vaughn, an insurance agency. He passed away at home in Tallahassee, Florida. at 98.
