On Monday morning, at the age of 66 years, Mr. August Berndt, a well-known citizen of the north east-side died in his home, 872 Richards Street, after a short illness, at the age of 40 years. He was one of the oldest employees of the American Hide Co., where he began working as a boy. He was an active member of the Turners and the American Legion of Honor. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 children: Eduard Berndt, Mrs. Laura Rosselar, and Mrs. Clara Kulk. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, November 21, from the mourning residence.
